Des Femmes Updates September 2023
Will we see you in Paris? Plus: community highlight and requests
Hi folks! Sterling here again to share all things Des Femmes this month.
This week I’m busy preparing to go to Paris for the Des Femmes IRL meetup. We have all kinds of workshops, including crypto safety, business negotiations, financial well-being, and money mentorship. Plus, we’re planning a cozy brunch for like-minded folks interested in privacy, tech, business, and finance! If you want to join us for brunch in Paris, email leigh [at] desfemmesmagazine.com!
Community Spotlight
We're delighted to introduce you to Ayelen Osorio, a writer and marketer in the Bitcoin space (she's open to freelance gigs if you're looking).
She has over a decade of experience in marketing, product management, and building partnerships. From marketing for a cryptocurrency exchange in Canada, to building a communications platform for real estate brokers across North America, and growing an Affiliate partnership program, it's clear she has a knack for building relationships, discovering problems, and building solutions. She's also helped Des Femmes by undertaking community research to help improve their 2023 plans.
Today, she's on the quest to do impactful work that changes the world with Bitcoin. Her passion for financial freedom and human rights saw Ayelen start Notes From The Margin newsletter and podcast. And it saw her emcee the Financial Freedom Track of the Oslo Freedom Forum (a human rights conference hosted by the Human Rights Foundation).
To stay in touch, you can follow her on Twitter @Ayelen_Osorio or on nostr at pubkey npub1rscuek38p87xeawmpg9ssump8cjkgmz2j3rhnha4artvh0xjacwq9upeqk. If you're a member of our community, you can also message her on Slack if you're interested in working together, or need unique advice for your business given her varied experience, or simply want to network. She'd love for you to say hi!
Community Requests
Women in Blockchain is doing a survey to understand what type of content the community wants. Is there anything you’d like to see or learn before the end of the year?
Do you know anyone in Paris who is working in tech, bitcoin, privacy, femtech, finance, and/or crypto? Please share this newsletter with them so that we can connect and meet up!
Until next time, stay curious!
